Root Remove Status Bar Clock and Mods

Just wondering if there is a way to modify the main status bar at the top of the screen. I don't see the point of having a widget clock and a status bar clock, personally I don't want the one on the status bar. Any help is much appreciated. Any modifications are welcome in this thread.

If you are using Launcher Pro you can completely turn of the status bar but I don't know of a way to turn off individual display items.

You can remove the clock. It's a mod in the services.jar file.

But since we don't have a way to backup and restore in case we mess up, I wouldn't do it
