Remove synced contacts?

I first exported my contacts from Outlook to my gmail in order to add them to my Eris. Later I used the HTC sync to import my calendar but the contacts went with it. Is there any way to remove all of these 'phone' type contacts and keep them from being synced again?

import your contacts to gmail, online, on your pc, make sure they are all there

then delete them all off your phone

then delete them all off your outlook

then resync...

should work.

Do you know of any quick way to do this? Other than one by one, or factory reset?
