ok, so i found a way to get rid of the custon sofware warning triangle.;) totally on accident... but still i deserve some credit i think.

all you have to do is:

after the custom install (using odin, usually needed after updating to 2.36 and trying to revert to 2.3.4)
install CWM
do a nandroid
install the stock 2.36 update from Samsung
install CWM
restore your nandroid., making sure to wipe dalvick and cache

Voila!;) The triangle no longer loads.

hope this helps some people. i wonder if the GSII has a stock rom they can install from samsung and do the same... anybody have one and wanna check?

I have the same problem. but I dont understand anything after "do nandroid"

This sounds like a surefire way to remove your ability to use data. If you all want, I can whip up a quick boot.img that can remove the yellow triangle.

Since you don't actually KEEP 2.3.6 you don't lose anything I have phone, txt, sms, and market.

Hell, my own admire has the 2.3.6 update installed, used odin to flash the stock pda, and ops file, letting me keep the 2.3.6 radio with the 2.3.4 system from metro. While I has it installed I took the 2.3.6 boot and shutdown animation as well as the sounds to change on my phone.

It's actually quite simple. All you're doing is overwriting data, nothing more, nothing less. When you flashed to 2.3.6, did you have to use QPST to rewrite the login information?

nope. just used odin to install CWM then reverted to my nandroid of 2.3.4. it still has the count showing that i had 1 custom install, but now says i am on stock. even tho i have a totally non stock rom atm.

I did that before. And my old back up also list data. Daisflores said I might have broken apn and to cdma workshop it. Any clues. My data still not working. Can you re post the tar files to get data please
