removing apps

Hi all, have bought my daughter the Samsung galaxy 2 tab for xmas, there are quite a few pre-installed apps she will not use as she is young. I have looked to try and to remove them, for instance the Google+ app says i can disable it - am i ok to do this or will it cause problems as a warning pops up and will disabling it actually remove it from the device?

Can i remove/disable all apps ok?

Also is there a parental control i can set up on the tab/android?

You can remove these unwanted apps by rooting your device.
