Help removing battery

I managed to take off the batter cover, but I'm a little stuck now. I looked up how to remove the batter and it says that gravity is supposed to pull it out..yet this doesn't seem like it's happening? Any suggestions??

The one time I removed it I gently tapped the phone against the palm of my hand until the battery slid out.

Mine seems a tiny bit too wide in the space. A very slight tap and it slides out.
