Help Removing bloatware and such?

So I realize that because it's Verizon they have to load it with tons of random apps and whatnot but I figured you would be able to remove them yet that's not the case. Is there anything I can do get rid of them or at least stop them from running that doesn't involve rooting the phone as I don't want to void my warranty?

On a easier note, is there anyway to make it so when I receive a text, my phone screen would light up rather then just have the small light at the top light up. Thanks.

Only rooting will remove bloatware, you can however remove the citymap thing that shows the city of the area code calling by opening the app's settings.

Some alternate launchers, like GO Launcher for example, let you hide the icons for the bloatware in the app drawer. So far, I have not had any trouble with the apps causing any drain on my Inc 2, and having the apps hidden, gives me that "out of sight, out of mind" experience.
