Root Removing city id and others after exited recovery

1. Turn phone on and plug in USB cable to your computer
2. Enable USB Debugging (SETTINGS -> APPLICATIONS -> DEVELOPMENT)
3. Type in "adb shell"
4. Then type in 'su" to get root

This will get you in the shell and let you do whatever else you need.

Anything you remove using this method will be back after a reboot. You need to go through the root process again to get adb shell to work in recovery.
 
How about this......

Next update to Android on the HTC phones - delete the CityID app and make it an option Market App.
