removing Docomo s3 bloatware

Hey there. I bought my Japanese s3 last November, and while I am generally pleased with it, the number of seemingly redundant apps and bloatware are irritating to me. Two ways to place a phone call? Seriously?

Anyhow, I was hoping to find out if there is anyone else who might have some advice on howto clean up my phone by removing all these pesky buggers. Thanks in advance!

flash your phone with a clean rom such as NeatRom, I don't know if it will work on your S3 because it is branded and Japanese version.

Thanks. Would either flashing or rooting carry any risks I should be aware of? I don't want to end up with a useless mobile, though I'm certain doing either will at the very least cold my warranty...

you going to have to ask the s3 forum to see if anyone else have the Japanese version or if there is hardware difference between the Japanese version and the international version.

ps. just an advice for future android phone purchase, always buy the international non-carrier branded phone. Buying localised and carrier branded is not as well supported in the dev community and usually does not have the same hardware, often have weaker components.

Alright, I'll see what I can find over there. And thanks for the advice on international vs. Branded phones...of course useless for this one now but when I upgrade I'll be sure to go fir an international version.

Be very careful when considering an imported device that its hardware supports your required network. NTT DoCoMo utilises the 800MHz, 1700MHz & 2100MHz bands for their 3G (UMTS/HSPA+) network and 2100MHz for 4G LTE.

Only UMTS2100 is supported by the current 'International' S3, for example.
