Help Removing FB from D3 gallery

JL2505

Lurker
Hello there. I've been a lurker for a few weeks reading up on bionic news, but my OG droid died a few days ago so I pulled the trigger on a D3 this morning.

Now for the problem, I have somehow included FB in the gallery on the new D3, and I don't want it there. Can someone please help me remove it so only my own personal pictures appear in the gallery?

Thanks in advance!

I can't exactly answer your question. I uninstalled facebook and installed friend caster instead.

Do you own a Droid 3? I have one, and Facebook did not come pre-installed. So to say it was removed is probably accurate.

The Facebook authenticator is indeed installed to tie into the Gallery and enable you to import your FB contacts. You must be talking about the full FB application.

if fb pics are showing up in your gallery then your phone is probably synced with fb - are your contacts synced as well?

to un-sync your phone you go into settings --> accounts and get rid of the fb account.

this is how it was on my d2. i have not synced my d3 with fb, but it should be the same to un-sync it

Good point, I think when a user ties into Facebook using the built-in software (probably part of MotoBlur?) it seems tie into your contacts and photos.

I didn't see an options to not show the Facebook photos, you either have to remove the FB account or use another gallery (like QuickPic).

Thank you for this info. This is what was the problem. Removing the fb account from the phone took care of the problem!

You could also just add a file called:

.nomedia

To any folder that you don't want pictures or videos to appear in your phone's gallery.
