removing gingerbread update from phone

I hate the gingerbread update as well. For some reason, it appears to be draining my battey. Does anyone know why? Can you explain how to uninstall it for those of us non-techies...

Draining your battery is wide open.

Is Bluetooth,Wifi or GPS on? Do you have constant apps refreshing (e.g. Email)? Have you been using ur phone more recently, maybe screen been on alot as u check out Gingerbread. Have you been in an area with bad reception?

Goto Setting>About phone>Battery use to try and diagnose your issue.

I'm not doing anything differently with my phone since the update. Making the same amount of calls, sending the same amount of texts, using it in the same areas. Background data is off, GPS, bluetooth are off. Battery usage sells cell standby 44%. Phone idle 33%, Display 12%, voice calls 11%

Someone in another thread suggested doing a factory reset to fix that problem.. But im not gona say do it cause it deletes all user data and I personally havent tryed because I switched back to cm7.. I just was gonna mention what I read on it..

I think there is a good chance you have bad signal strength which hastens battery use.

I have the rooted version of 2.3.5 and currently have over 4 days since last charge.
