Root Removing Icons from App Tray

Okay, so I used Titanium Backup to freeze, then uninstall some of the bloatware apps on my DX. However, the icons are still found in the app tray and clicking them generates a FC.

Is there any way to get rid of the icons permanently? I know I can hide them with LPP but that only hides them; I want to eliminate them.

Any ideas?

Root Explorer, system, app, Click the Mount R/W to change to Mount R/O.

Search for the icons you need to remove, RENAME the .apk to .bak

Change the Mount R/O to Mount R/W and exit, you should be good to go.

Thanks for the response. As it turns out, this was user error - the apps that were left and giving me the FC were in fact only frozen, not uninstalled. Once I uninstalled them with TB they disappeared from the app tray.

why cant i get kindle to go away?

Ive used explorer to rename the other junk, but the amazon .apk is the only one related (as far as i know)....
