removing last update

Hi guys,

quick question. My friend has the last update for his DHD, obviously he wants to remove this update and wait for the proper one (since he has loads of bugs with sms etc due to the last update).

if he does a factory reset, will that remove the update? If not, how can he remove it (in other words, how can he roll back?)

Factory reset will not roll it back. The only way i can think of is to install one of the RUU files of the earlier version. Someone more knowledgable than myself would need to confirm that first though.

so then what the hell are people with the buggy update supposed to do? wait until HTC in 2 or more weeks (if that) release a bug free update?

Thats just crazy....my friend is having to use a phone which doesn't alert him when he recieves a sms!! (one of the bugs of the latest update).

Would it help if he downloads another sms app from the market in the meantime?

i havent tried nor would i recommend, but this may be an option you might want to give due consideration to:

My solution have been to install Go SMS. Grab the the App from Market. Make sure you have notifications turned off in the stock sms application and turned on in Go SMS. So far its worked out fine for me.
