Help Removing widgets

[oldchick70]

I have a Galaxy Ace 3 with 8 screens full of widgets/shortcuts (they scroll in a neverending cyclewhich will not be removed by holding and dragging to the red trash can.

There is also a bar along the top of the home screen with Apps - Widgets- Downloads which I can't remove.
Any suggestions please?

That sounds like the app drawer. Press the home button (big Button in the middle)
