renting movies on the market is expensive

does anyone find it way overpriced that the Market is renting movies for 5 bucks... like, wow, renting for 5 bucks... thats a lot of money imo to rent a movie

Meh, with Redbox/Netflix you think el Goog would be a bit more in touch with pricing....

...but wait.. that pricing was imposed by the MPAA in exchange for the "streaming license"

i agree you would figure with the competition out there you would get them cheaper.. i dont think there is a way to "copy" what your downloading is there? so i dont see the need for such a high price. not like i can stream the video and keep a copy for myself.. sheesh

It is expensive on iOS too...around $3.99 or more. So, nothing different with Market. I rather rent via Redbox or Blockbuster. However, there is only ONE movie that is a "must have" on a mobile device with a good screen...Avatar! Great movie to showcase the display! Otherwise, Redbox! :)

It is about the same price as renting on iTunes or On Demand with Comcast, or renting in store at Blockbuster.

Doesn't matter to me though since the market won't let a rooted phone rent a movie anyways.

Have you checked out the app Crackle? You can watch a lot of movies and tv shows for free. Not the newest releases, but still a decent selection. It is one of the featured apps on the market right now.
