Help Repeated "SIM Card Removed" Error

Can't say I'm happy Verizon started using SIM cards. Every so often, I get the following popup error message that disables my phone until I restart (which is the only option):

"SIM card removed - The mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid SIM card inserted."

I've tried pulling the battery, re-seating both the SIM and SD cards but the message returns. Any ideas? I hate SIM cards...

U can try givin the sim a wee rub with a cloth but theyre so mass produced that some people are unlucky n get a faulty one. Weve always had sims in UK. u can usualy just take it to a carrier's shop n get a blank sim made into a replacement there and then

i have the same problem and none of the suggestions have cured the error. I've replaced SIM 2 times replaced the reader, tried the rub with cloth, stuffed paper in reader to get better sim connection and finally tried a few strips of tape on back of sim and still get the error. i read Sony phones having similar issue which leads me to believe its non hardware. Did you find any solution .. i now live in a different country from where i bought the phone and Samsung will not help as they claim there technician can not work any model other than ones domestically purchased. it will cost me a fortune to ship the phone back to Canada for the diagnostic... the phone is now a $600 paper weight on my desk

i cut out a tiny piece of paper and stuck it in with the Sim card. (on top, not on the side that needs to touch the metal connector)

This ensured that the sim card would always have a good "connection" to what it needs to. I was having to restart once a day and ever since I put the piece of paper in it stopped happening. try it out.

I think it's pretty sweet that Verizon CDMA phones have SIM cards. I've always liked the idea of SIM cards myself...but I guess it's another liability (something else to go wrong) in the end.
