Help Replace Default Messaging Screen?

Hi all!

I've got an HTC Wildfire, and I've started using Handcent for SMS messages. After a forum search I was able to get rid of the notifications from the default messaging app, so thanks to the forum for that.

Is there any way to replace the default messaging app's screen with Handcent? I'm talking about the messaging screen you get to if you swipe twice to the right from the home screen, i.e. Home > Mail > Messaging

What you have there is a widget for the stock messaging app.

If you long press the widget until the bin appears at the botton and drag it there it will remove it.

Handcent has a widget, but its pretty much an icon.

What exactly is it you are looking for?

Thanks for the helpful info! Widget was the terminology I needed. Thanks to your help, I was able to delete the stock messaging app and put the Handcent (medium) widget in its place.
