Replace HTC Lockscreen, an Incredible Find!

Hi Kevin,

Still working good for me. Only now since I got the Froyo update today, upon first boot of the phone and unlocking it, I get the white htc screen for a second or two then my home screen.

Hoping you can look at getting rid of that (which was different from Sense giving the "loading" pop up before).

Thanks as always!

I'm confused, is it taking 4 seconds, or is it taking a minute?

If it's taking 4 seconds, it's likely because you had hit the Home button before turning the screen off and then turned the screen back on right away. This is the 5 second rule that Android doesn't allow another program to start within 5 seconds of pressing the Home button. You can bypass this by setting WLocker Helper as your default home. In WidgetLocker go to Settings > Behavior > Clear Default Home and then select the WLocker Helper.

If WidgetLocker isn't showing at all, could it be that you have a task killer killing widgetlocker?

No no, nothing about hitting the home button, and anyway I have WL as my default home.

no, what happens is if I wake my phone up a very short time after it has gone to sleep (screen gone black and screen unresposive) then it brielfy shows my home (briefly being 2-5 seconds) before it shows my lock screen. In this time the home is full interactive and I have even managed to start some apps in the time it is shown.

nothing to do with the home button, the only button used is the power button to wake the phone up.

Hey kevin, I think I'm having the same problem as some of the others here. Since I installed 2.2, it seems that at times after unlocking or using an app for a while, when I hit the home button my home has to completely reload. This happened with Sense as in the white HTC screen that people have been talking about and with launcherpro. With launcherpro, it would go to my home screen unresponsive for 10 seconds or so while loading all of my widgets, exactly as if I had manually restarted it. Everything worked perfect with 2.1 and I'm sure you'll come up with a speedy fix for this. Thanks for your help and support

+1 for problems with HTC sense reloading since 2.2 loaded :(

It's mainly annoying but has led to my alarm not going off as sense crashed overnight which caused a bit of a panic ;)

Looking forward to a fix as I really like this app...

This doesn't sound right.
1) WidgetLocker is not causing Sense to crash. if Sense is crashing that's a completely different problem
2) Sense Home, which WidgetLocker + Android may be causing to be removed from memory (Safely, not crashing) is different from the system alarms and should not effect it at all. Plenty of people use alternative launchers and the Sense alarm still works fine

WidgetLocker used to have some issues with the Sense alarm going off but not being dismissible, but I haven't received any reports of such since 1.2.5.

How many of you are rooted? The five-second-rule is the biggest reason to use Home Helper (I'll be able to block the Home button without it in the near future). I can bypass the five-second-rule on rooted phones (Superuser.apk is causing a ~1 second delay or so, but I might be able to get around that too, and it's not nearly as noticable/annoying as a 5 second delay)

I'm rooted. Do I win a prize?

WL seems to be messing up screen on/off/lock/unlock for other apps. JuiceDefender was working very sporadically as (from its log) only some of the screen on/off/lock/etc. messages were getting through. :(

everything was working great after Froyo except for one thing.

Im getting weather clouds and cant seem to turn it off. went in to setting and turned it off there but still get them.

thoughts?

So I just started using LauncherPro Plus, and now I can't make widgetlocker home my default like I used to. When I do, it just reverts my home screens back to sense. Any ideas?

I have a request, if possible (and if others would like it too).

I have WL set so if I open an app using its shortcut on my WL lock screen and hit "Home" it takes me back to WL. What is moderately annoying, however, is that then when I unlock my phone, whatever I opened in WL is now the first thing I see rather than my home screen. It takes an extra step to get to my home screen that over time is a bit bothersome.

Thanks

Amazing little app/widget. Less reason to mod/root this phone. I was pretty sick of the bland and functionless HTC Sense lockscreen; so much so, I was tempted to root/mod my new Incredible. After reading this thread I went ahead and bought it. Best $2 I've spent on my phone. It's definitely a must for anyone with HTC Phones.

First app I've bought since I've had my phone, got it when it came out. I hate the HTC lock...and I refuse to use the stupid iphone slider.

Dear TeslaCoil Software,

I am writing to confess my love towards you, and to express the gratitude of both myself, and my wife.

My wife knows of my A.D.D issues and my obsession to buy/tinker with new gadgets, and she fully expected my love for my Incredible to fade after just a few months (if that). Many developers have contributed to prolonging the lifespan of my interest in this particular gadget, but none to the level your software has.

Thanks to you, i am able to completely change the way my phone looks and acts. Essentially giving me a new toy to play with, any time i want.

Your app cost me $2 but has saved me HUNDREDS since im not out buying more gadgets to obsess over.

Accept my, and my wifes super huge THANKS.

Signed,

rsarno and fam

It's interesting that the new Cyanogen Mod6 ROM has the slide left to unlock screen. I wonder what he's used in the zip to get it in there. I've flashed that ROM but still not sure.

Anyone know?

After settings WidgetLocker to your default home go to WidgetLocker Settings > Behavior > Home Application and change that to Sense UI.

Glad you (And your wife) are enjoying WidgetLocker :). WidgetLocker actually had the opposite effect for me, I was perfectly happy with my Nexus One, but suddenly I need so many more phones to test on.

um, home switcher doesnt work with 2.2

This is true. It can launch an alternate Home, but it cannot change which is set as the default. WidgetLocker has Settings > Behavior > Clear Default Home to help with this. It's not one-step like it was in Android 2.1 but it makes it easier. Also I released a simple app to do this creatively named ClearDefaultHome. It just opens the System Settings Applications page for the current default Home and tells you to press the "Clear Defaults" button (Not Clear Data).

Cyanogen Mod is built from source, thus it doesn't include any Sense UI things. The left/right sliders is part of standard Android.

Ahh gotcha. So a specific mod would/could permanently change it back? I like some of the Sense stuff but detest that swipe down unlock.

I am having the same issue as Diablo. When my device first boots and I unlock WL it shows the HTC white loading screen. I've also noticed this happens from time to time if my phone has been sleeping for quite awhile. It's not a deal breaker or anything, just a little annoying. Other than that I'm really enjoying this app.

Add me to this list. Didn't notice it the first few days, but the last couple it's been happening randomly.

Can i have some ideas of what widgets yall have on your lock screen?

cant decide on what would be best for me
