Replace stock dialer in dock?

How do I replace the stock dialer in the dock (using default LG stock home screen)?

I tried Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Dialer, the "Clear defaults" is grey out and unelectable.

Try to simply drag and drop another app on top of the one your trying to replace.

I'm not sure what you want to do exactly, but clear defaults is for when you choose that app to run a certain command every time. Like when you click a YouTube link, you can usually choose to either watch it in the web browser or in the YouTube app. If you choose to have YouTube open those links everyone, the clear defaults option will be selectable and will let you choose how to run that command again

When I tried to drag an app icon in the home screen, the trash icon appear in the dock. So I dragged the app from the application list into the dock to replace the stock dialer, which worked.
