Help Replaced screen still Black

Hello, and thanks in advance for any responses.

I have an LG Esteem (ms910) I have had it for a while. Dropped the phone several times, but it has always been ok. Around a year ago I dropped it and the screen cracked. It still worked so I just kept using it with the cracked screen. Eventually I dropped it again and the phone popped apart (case and battery came out) I put battery back in and turned back on. The phone turned on, but the entire screen was black. No light or anything, the screen was dead. So I let it sit for a long time..... probably 6 months now. Finally decided to fix it. (Just need a new LCD screen and digitizer right? Should be easy enough lol)

I purchased a used phone from ebay (the phone had a bad ESN, but all the parts worked fine). Basically I just switched the motherboards to make it easy. Now the phone that has MY motherboard, turns on but screen stays black just like before. I put the motherboard from the new phone into my old phone with the cracked screen and now that screen works on that phone.

At this point it seams like something it wrong with the motherboard????? I checked all the connections. cleaned the connections, but nothing. Tried a hard reset, but I cannot see the screen..........

Does anybody have any suggestions? Phone was never dropped in water or anything. thanks again.... Also is it possible to just use the other phone with the bad ESN? I still have my old sim card and everything. Phone was from metro pcs.

1) Probably a cracked motherboard. You'll have to replace it.

2) The ESN is on the motherboard, so you can't use the motherboard with the bad one.

Thanks for the fast reply. I looked over the motherboard with a flashlight and magnifying glass, but I did not find a nick or a scratch on the board. Regardless though, I'm assuming it has to be a motherboard issue. What would happen if I put the serial number sticker from my motherboard on the working phones motherboard and tried to activate it? Would it activate the wrong phone or what? Thanks again

That's just a sticker it doesn't make a difference lol. ESN is in the motherboard, it's tied to it. Just buy a new phone and save your time

Dang Iv been waiting soo long the replace the screen, I was so excited to finally have my phone back...... This is such a let down... Cant really afford a new phone right now, was really hoping to just fix this one.... Thanks for the help guys... If anybody has any other ideas Id be glad to hear it but the motherboard issue makes sense.

I decided to check the ESN on the parts phone I have, and it says it is clear. But this phone has issues as well (i am thinking maybe due to it being rooted or something????)... The phone will power on, go through the startup sequence (LG logo), however, after the LG logo it does not go any further. No Metro PCS logo or anything. Instead it just goes black. The backlight stays on, so the screen is still lit up, but nothing else happens. I tried just letting it sit like that on the charger for a while. Is this something that I can fix? If so I will just fix it and activate it instead. Thank you.
