replacement battery life, I gotta know why

OK ,hello all ,Obviously new here:p.I Got my first esteem In march had it till July and it was stolen:( it had a terrible battery life But I loved the phone and just dint care . anyhoo I replaced it through insurance and the new one has amazing battery life,I gotta know why. I don't do anything different . more apps than before ,synced through goggle so I have all the same ones I had plus new ones.except I *think* im missing a few stock apps Im not sure I had two empty spaces on the first page when I got it,and this replacement had Google plus preinstalled I don't remember that on my original .
also,I noticed the boot animation audio is gone.this phone is mercilessly used from morning till night.I sell on craigslist and ebay so im constantly checking my emails checking my listings checking prices on stuff im going to buy to resell .
does anyone have any ideas whats going on with this? not that im complaining.....this phone is just better than the first one I had.
thank you for your time.

I have this same issue...but I actually have two Esteem phones: two from October last year 2011, one new one being replaced late August 2012. The new one does say Hardware revision 1.1. But here is the difference: the old ones would have to have the battery changed at least once and sometimes twice for work. I remember the battery life was about 4.5 hours with moderate use straight out of the box.

The new phone:
I made 2 hours in calls (checked call logs) and am already over 17 hours and, according to the battery bar, still have maybe 20-30% to go!!!! I only did very, very light internet. I really expect it to hit 24 hours!!! It's like I got some secret prototype or something compared to the old ones!!! It's insane. From having to change the battery once or twice daily (even with the 3500mah extended "fat back" batteries) to not at all (or maybe once as I haven't really tested it in that regard yet), this is huge!!!

Just to be sure, I am using the factory battery on this new one shipped with phone. I charged it full for 12 hours and then started using it.

I just need to know how to make my other original esteem do what this one does. They are both running ZVD. This new one came pre-loaded with PRL 3026 according to the box. This is a big deal for people out there as getting 24 hours on one charge with 2 hours of talk time is pretty amazing compared to what we are all used to.

The old esteem only got 4.5 hours out of the box with light/moderate usage. Is there a hardware difference or just software? I heard the HW rev 1.1 only is for changing the battery cover and making it more secure...but the difference between these two phones is RIDICULOUS!!!!

This almost makes the 3.5 hour talk time / 200 hour standby time actually seem not a joke...200 hour standby time!!! HAAAAAa, I used to think. Now, 36 hours on pure standby seems almost a certainty. I only ever needed the phone to work 12-14 hours anyway, so this is a BIG improvement. I believe I will test talk time next and am sure I will beat 3.5 hours. I added up my call logs earlier with 2 hours of calls still having me over 50% after 8 hours total on-time. I now love this phone!!! There are no more drawbacks. The HDMI out is pretty cool streaming movies, big screen, does everything I want...and lasts as long as I need it to. I'm almost scared they will ask for their "prototype" phone back!!! It's that good!!!

Yes, I am sure apps will eat into this, especially if not setup properly for internet usage, but my stock one got 20% the battery life as this one out of the box similarly equipped.

Plus, it only takes 45 seconds (timed) to "completely boot" vs 4 minutes for the old ones...ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THAT. That is huge for work when I need an internet connection and lose customers if I have to reboot the phone. I don't know if this one will have the same issues with dropped internet connection (4G/cdma/whatever) that can only be solved with reboots (usually), but even so, I won't lose out on money (I have lost out on a bit of money already from this so if this concern is over, it will just put this as my favorite phone of all time in terms of overall satisfaction...or at least tied with my very first cell).

Are there any survey results on boot times for the LG Esteem? Just curious. What accounts for such a huge disparity and how can I make the other old Esteem work like this one?

Update:

I got 41 HOURS on my new Esteem even with a little over 2 hours of phone calls (bone-stock--using factory battery, keeping 4G enabled, and no battery-saving apps/tweaks).

The old Esteem on my other phone line might get 4-5 hours with similar usage, probably less as I made over 2 hours in phone calls YET STILL GOT 41 hours. Bluetooth was on for 12-13 hours (sure of this) of that time and WIFI was on for maybe 6 hours or so (less sure of exact time)...but I never disabled 4G.

The settings-->applications-->battery usage showed a big hit that corresponded with a hour-plus phone call I made, but given that

I have a 3500mah battery for my other Esteem and it still won't last 9 hours with moderate usage.

Both are ZVD and same exact kernel/baseband. Only discernible difference is the new one is Hardware Revision 1.1 vs 1.0 for the old one.

Would like to know how to get my other Esteem to work like the replacement. Any ideas???
