Root Replacement Bionic due tomorrow - ADVICE

Replacement coming, and I am looking for advice. Should I wait for the OTA update before I root, or use Pete's Rooter lke I did originally, or the newer forever rooter, etc? I would like the radio update to get my signal strench back to og droid days, but I've lost track of all the options anymore, with all the meaningless names like cheesecake and the like. And I feel like I have lost the nerve to be one of the first non-dev users to do the bleeding edge stuff. What methods are the least error-prone and one-button?

If it helps the OTA was just pushed 30 to 60 days out.

Just opinion, but I would use the forever root just to be safe. I am at 5.5.893 and can't decide if it is worth the bother to get to 5.7.893. I am not in an LTE area so I don't know if it's worth all of the trouble.

Did you just call Verizon for a replacement and flash back to stock avoiding CostCo?

Jeffrey - I did go to Vz for the replacement. Screw Costco. I will flash the old one back to stock and swap out the sd-ext with my stuff on it, and return it.

Personally, I'd root and forever root *now* and go ahead and get the update that I'm waiting to get posted sometime later tonight or tomorrow. It's the full 5.7.893 update.

But, it's your call as to how you want to do it.

I am asking for your advice only, not requesting professional services. You need not worry about liability; I know you are not responsible if I f up!!!:o

It's alot easier to do it now since you are fully stock....trust me. :o

I didn't know we can go to VZW for a replacement rather than Costco! Thanks! haha.

You can go to vzw for a replacement. But if you want to return it to costco it must be the exact same Binic yoh purchased originally

Which R3L3as#DRoot will give you - pure vanilla stock BIONIC 5.5.886 (you have 4 options - revert, revert / root/ revert / root / 43v3r root or just root.

Yup, that makes sense but I still didn't know VZW would replace a phone that wasn't purchased there. Thanks!
