Help replacement droid coming today...how to backup apps

wdstone

Newbie
didnt see a thread on this, so I apologise if it has been said or posted before. My headphone jack quit working so I am getting a replacement today, so curious how i backup contacts, and apps.

Rooting and using Titanium Backup is the easiest way to backup all of your apps and settings. Z4root is a market app that will do it in one click.

id rather not root this since i am sending it back. any other ways? thanks for the info though def going to root the new one

Download the app, root, use Ti Backup to back up the apps, then use the app to unroot, and uninstall the app again. Boom, fresh, unrooted phone ready to send back.

Sorry, don't know of any other good way.

Your contacts are backed up with your gmail account, so as long as you set up your new phone with the same account, you'll be fine. As far as apps, AppBrain allows you to sync your apps so you can easily restore all of them on a new phone.
