I am new at rooting and flashing ROMS, but fairly techno savvy. I have successfully rooted the above phone using AlphaRev X, but after extensive search, am still unclear about the following regarding ROMS/flashing.

1. The replacement rom must be a rooted version or it will unroot the phone?
2. If I partition the sd card for extended memory, will any rom take advantage of that, or does it need to be specifically designed for that?
3. Is there a way to get the stock rom to recognize the extention on the sd card?

1 . Yes but as long as you have custom recovery you can flash another Rom. All custom Roms are rooted anyway. The only way to unroot truly is with an RUU, but not sure with alpharev x.

You should probably read the root faq in the "all about rooting" thread

2. Read the root memory faq in the "all about rooting" thread

3. Same as 2
