DEATH2ALL110 MADE A GREAT UNBRICK TUTORIAL AND WAS KNOWN TO WORK FABULOUSLY!!!

But there has been word of some failures with this method due to LGMU (LG Mobile Updater) causing a fatal error/crash. This is not Deaths Fault!!!

he may have possibly saved you from purchasing a new phone and/or terminating your account with verizon and here is why

1. You tried to use his method and it sent your phone into a bootloop.

OR

2. You began to install the software and caused a fatal error which wont allow your phone to leave the "DOWNLOADING... DO NOT UNPLUG" Screen

here is what you HAVE to do, and i kno this works bc i get the joys of starting over with a brand new ally

Verizon is on overstock with the Allys and has a online deal to get the allys for FREE. so this is no problem to replace.

YOU MUST CALL VERIZON!!!

When they ask you why you are calling tell them that you used the LGMU to update to the froyo, you followed every step carefully and installed the drivers and made sure your phone was properly connected to you PC/MAC. Your phone made it to the Installing section of the update and x% through your LGMU crashed and said you must restart. Once you begun the update over again you recieved a message on top of the LGMU stating there was a fatal error and could not complete update!

from there verizon will submit you to a tech support and explain to him/her the same situation and after doing so they will refer you to either go to a local VZW store to have them flash the software on to your phone and if the flash fails verizon will approve to give you a brand new ally if available in store or ship you one overnight if within Overnight Hours

if this is a success i ask you to donate to death2all110
If you are kind enough to thank me then its much appreciated

get it... ally (Allie) LOL

Nice, could work... for a limited time.

thats why you shouldnt hesitate this, i fried my ally with the lgmu and get my brand new ally monday.. so im hoping this helps many ppl and also with the update being released someone could be sent one with the ota 2.2 and maybe help the devs out

mine also bricked while on lg updater tool, just went to my local Verizon store, told my tale of woe, showed them the "updating don't unplug" screen (cant even get to blue screen now) and they sent me out a refurbed ally, is being delivered today......I know some stores are much more difficult to deal with than others though, I may have been lucky in that respect.

BTW...before the flames start, absolutely not the fault of any of the developers here......I have flashed multiple roms successfully before, just got impatient and rushed it.....was my errors in trying to go back to stock that bricked it...

I only posted to add my experience with Verizon and replacing my dead phone....otherwise its all good! OK!!:D

At least I'm not the only one...

The replacement came yesterday & the old one is on its way back to Ft. Worth - maybe they can fix it.

I don't suppose this will still work, or even if you didn't buy your Ally from verizon?

If it is still under the original manufactures 1 year warranty you *might* be able to get the to warrant it. Just tell them you started having issues after an ota update. I read your other post, have you tried LGNPST? I also dont understand what could have happened after the ots update to froyo. Ive updated many times with no issues.

Playing dumb works just as well. "I woke up this morning and went to go use my phone and.... It's dead. Worked fine yesterday."
