Root replacing rooted evo w/ new evo question

I have a rooted EVO that I dropped...twice. So I bought a new (used) EVO...do I need to root the new phone now, or will it transfer with the card? (sorry if that's a newbie question, it's been a long day) Any help is appreciated.

yes you will have to root it. can't just transfer root over like it is a file.

yeah figured as much-was hoping for a quick transfer. oh, well. So I guess I should activate it first to avoid any problems when having sprint activate new phone huh?
