Help replacing the screen glass.

Has anyone done this before? The other night I broke my glass by dropping my phone. I usually have a case on it but had taken it off during my rooting process and didn't put it back on. Yeah, I know, dumb but it happened. Anyway, as long as the surgery isn't too hard I would assume the glass is less than the 100 dollar deductible of my insurance, plus I don't want them to send me a different phone unless it's actually better than the ally.

not that i know of... i smashed my ally a bit ago and had the same prob... i just got a droid 1 on ebay for 140 and it works better than my ally

Yeah, I'm going to look into just getting another phone. My gf's roommate is replacing her ally, if anything I think I can get that off of her real cheap (20 bucks or so).

the glass (LCD) costs about 40 bucks, and there is a good video on youtube showing how to take apart the phone.

I myself have replaced the digitizer for my ally. If you are careful and know a thing or two about electronics then you won't find it to be too hard.
