Root repo sync issue

Whatcha tryin to build? Do you have git installed right?
well first i want to build a gb rom, then cm7
i dont have git installed yet, i do have the latest jdk and gnu make, but i forgot to install git..i was doing this right before you posted and it keeps asking me if i have root, and i get su authentication error
im running xubuntu 12 i have all the updates and upgrades
btw ty for replying so fast

*edit..nvm, i did figure out how to get root access, shuld i stop trying to re'sync and install git first?
*edit edit..my git was already at its newest version, but i did however forget to update the sdk, and i had 6 linux updats that i didnt finish..so ok..after sdk updates, i will restart my machine and resync the master branch.
so after that its my understanding that i can go ahead and repo the android r 2.3.7?

so i just tied to sync with the android 2.3.7r1 and im getting the same thing
exited sync due to fetch errors
and this keeps popping up
gnome-keyring:: couldn't connect to: /tmp/keyring-UXq31y/pkcs11: No such file or directory
i just wasted another hour or so on this..what am i doing wrong?
then i did this..repo sync -f

*edit..o snap bo i didnt know you had a soundcloud..i just checked it out
i have some old stuffon there from last year http://soundcloud.com/vianta
