So do i need to procceed the way your guidlines stated to open the lg_root zip and run port.bat.

Did you update to 10i? you need to do that first.

Then go into developer options and make sure debugging is on. you get Dev Options by going into about phone/software info and rappidly tapping on Build Number. then try upgrading using the tool. also wouldn't hurt to make sure that Enable OEM unlock is checked in Dev Options.

Or you can use the LP 5.1.1 One Click root to simplified things ( wotks with Tmo/Metro/Boost)
