Root Reprocussions to replacing Evo V 4g with custom firmware

hobbes

Newbie
I have an Evo V 4g (obviously) with a ****** up radio, ****** up rom, pretty much ****** up everything. Beyond the point where I, or anyone can possibly fix it. So, I called Virgin support and got a replacement phone, which arrived at my doorstep yesterday (I stated the cause of issue was me dropping it lol) So if they find out that there is aftermarket firmware on the phone (all you have to do is turn it on...), will they disable both phones? Or am I set to go?

tl;dr: Got replacement phone; Will Virgin disable both if I send in the aftermarket one, or should I smash the shit out of it?

thanks in advancio.

Oh yea, forgot to mention it was replaced under the one year warranty.

Its better just to send it in like normal most of the time the tech people working on the phones could care less if been rooted and flashed with stuff.

Just send the phone back, as was previously posted they flash an image to the phone before anything else both to remove customers data and return the phone to a steady state so that it can be diagnosed. Smashing it really reeks of fraud. You already received a replacement due to user error, now you're looking to make Virgin have to write the phone off as opposed to merely re flashing it to correct your mishap?
