[req]permalinks in search function

Please could one of the following solutions be added to the search function url?

1) a unique, non expiring url (perhaps the url could consist of searcher's username followed by alpha-numeric characters).

2) as above but referencing search strings and forum location

This will help us link specific search results to answer questions for new members quickly and efficiently

Thank you for you consideration

By basically saying "Let me search that for you?" ;)

The search returns are currently session based I believe, that would require a plugin of some sort. Which, I'll look into at some point. Will be awhile though.

Well, some of us will know if its a known error / issue simply by reading the question where as a new member may not be aware and think only they have this issue.

Using search can be hard if you don't know whether to expect an answer or not, but if you know the answer exists - it can make finding it easier.

Thanks, doesn't have to happen over night but it would be useful.

A possible alternative to consider instead of modifying the search function might be to use a site-specific Google search.

For example, if someone wanted to search for search for all instances of HD2 on Android Forums they could do the following:

Let me google that for you

Its an idea, but its harder to narrow down the search field into specific forums that way. Its a bit of a blanket search without being able to narrow the search down to forums or sub forums.

But if you look at this URL from a google search:

google.co.uk/#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&site=&source=hp&q=site:androidforums.com+HTC+Desire+memory+issues&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=957dcd876369ec41

That is what I was looking at so you could get:

http://androidforums.com/search.php?searchid=htc+desire+memory+issues

Or

http://androidforums.com/search.php?searchid=DanFranceAB9Y65GTV7

or a combination of both.
