Read through the thread... I didn't theme anyone's systemui.apk. It takes more than just the systemui.apk to make a theme. lolOhh could you change mine to a nice red or dark blue?
The reason why your having decompile and recompile errors is because you have no clue what your doing. The only error is you actually thinking you know what you are doing.Oh i know not a theme. The post was about clock change color. So I figure cause someone asked fr the systemui.apk the clock only
be getting changed.
But to be honest this rom has alot of error with is systemui and framwork.apk and not just the png 9 error.
I have tried many times changing the clock color but when i put the recompiled apk back in i lose my status bar altogether.
Thanks anyway sorry for the misunderstandin

Learn how to edit .9.png's before you make such rediculous accusations. If you knew anything, you would know that you can check your .9.png edits with the draw9patch tool that comes with SDK... Typical noob mistakes.
You do not edit .9.png's like regular png's... It's a different method... Learn it.
I decompile make edits and recompile all day with no errors.
LoLYep... He blamed his mistakes on the rom when it's obvious he doesn't know what he's doing. lolOuch![]()
LoL
You don't have a clue child. Go learn.Actually there are more errors then what I listed but I wont get into then. you see a little upset kid. I had a few people try a few things abd they said thats a rom error. no biggie.
For anyone reading along this thread. If your trying to decompile and compile the SystemUI.apk from the Katana rom to theme, this is what it should look like if properly setup and edited.
You must have your tools properly setup on your PC and you must correctly edit the apk.

If this is not what you are getting, then there's something wrong on your end.
To be honest, everything I learned was from here and xda developers along with trial and error. I cant say that there's a right or wrong way as long as the results are positive.Stupid question, I used to dev for Windows Mobile 5/6/6.1 back when I was in highschool, and was decent at theming. I kept telling myself once I updated my computer I would get into Android theming... any idea of the learning curve? The best way to find out is to dive in and do, just wondering the best way to learn Android coding...?
Sad thing is I'm happy with your ROM & white UI enough, I've slacked at my interest in it. Just feel like I know enough to give back to the community just don't know where to start.
P.S I literately clapped my hands reading your reply! It seems as if there are a lot of people who are annoyed by the black on black text... the way I see it are, everything works, Katana is faster and smoother than stock..and the WhiteUI is perfect for I am another colorblind Spirit user lol
