Root Request - CM9 port?

seeing as the stock firmware already runs on 4.0.4, how hard would it be to throw CM9 on our phones with everything working? i kind of dont like how all these ICS roms on the forums here are just re-hashed stock roms with some stock ZTE apps, i'd rather everything be AOSP.

that will be nice to have cm9 until we get cm10 working

to be honest, i dont see anything else happening with CM10 untill that official ZTE update comes out, if at all. Im currently working on taking some of the themed apps out of Awesome Android for myself, if anyone shows some intrest and i can actually get it working (first time messing around with roms, other than installing them), and with shins permission i could release an unofficial update 4

it would be just as hard as doing cm10, the thing most people dont understand is that it really has little to do with the software, its all about the phones hardware and how it is set up. and a big part of the reason we dont have much progress lately is that i am incapable of running a build myself, pg who is doing the building doesnt actually have the phone to be able to test, and my reliance on the phone for internet kinda keeps me from not only downloading the builds to test but even trying them out. the rest of the people that were working on it with us have gone missing, so its down to just us
might get more done if i wasnt always obsessing about bt, but that is my main personal priority at the moment. if someone else wants to jump in and try to help out that would be good, learn to unpack a boot.img and modify .rc files, compare other similar phones (ones that use the same bt chipset and preferably the same processor architecture would be what im looking at) and take stuff from stock like library files and binaries (lib and bin directories accordingly) possibly even framework though less likely, toss them into cm and see if if fixes things, its not exactly a simple process by any means but if you take the time to learn it you may be able to come up with something, i only started tinkering with android back in december and look at how far ive come, i may not be an expert quite yet but im far from useless. if youd like to play a part hit up the chat room on unleashedprepaids.com and come talk to us, pg and i are usually around somewhere

at the very least, my goal is to make an awesome android skin that brings the AOSP look to it, im not a fan of the tiny little ZTE touches here and there (mainly, in the messaging app)

If you want everything AOSP, best bet is to buy a Nexus.

CM9 would be a waste of time now and wouldnt make anything not working in cm10 all of a sudden work.

Same goes for the 'rumored' ZTE update (manuf just dont upgrade devices out of the kindness of their heart, carriers have to pay em for it, and the way zte does shyt, prolly be more broke shyt anyways. ;)), doubtful it helps anything at all.

Biggest things CM10 needs atm is more time spent on it or me having one in hand. ;)
