Request to Triumph users

Don't know if this helps but here is some more info on various hardware tidbits onboard (might be able to research or cross reference code tidbits from other phones that use the same)

First off, I have to say that I'm so impressed with the warm response and generosity of the Triumph community. With every donation, I'm getting closer to having a Triumph. In fact, I might have one by the end of this week! Check my first post later as I'll list all you wonderful donators. Please accept my thanks as you are all greatly appreciated.

Now, what exactly am I trying to accomplish for the Triumph community? First off, I want the Triumph to have a solid recovery. Let's face it, stock 2.2 is great, but wouldn't it be nice to have newer versions of Android? The MT needs a good, working recovery so that we can safely flash ROMs to our heart's content. We have one working, thanks to tjstyle, but I'd like to tweak the best I can for the MT.

As it stands, I have successfully built CM7. Now, I don't know if it boots or not. However, until I can work out some bugs in the build process, it would be best not to flash the package. Once I get my Triumph, I'll make sure everything is safe to flash. I don't want anyone out there with a messed up phone.

For those who don't know, Cyanogenmod is an ultrapopular Android distribution that is built from the original Android source. The CM source code contains numerous fixes and enhancements to Android. Also, it's usually the most current version of Android. When manufacturers fail to deliver timely upgrades, that's where CM devs come in. In order to build CM/AOSP for a particular device, somebody must take the source and make device specific configurations to tailor it for that device. All those links I keep throwing out there are my device configurations for the MT. When I get the Triumph, I want to give you guys CM7.

Once again, big thanks to everyone who is trying to help me. I hope to reward you guys soon!

Isaac

I would like to bring something to everyone's attention and feel like this is the most appropriate place to do this, lets not have a huge discussion here about it though.

On the xda-developers forum someone (Revolution) has suddenly come out of nowhere requesting that everyone donate to him so he can start developing for the Triumph, he has not done anything to gain our trust and in the past has been a disrespectful member of the sideckick 4g community. When I asked that everyone donate to isaacj87 (ikaros), someone who has done work for us and asking nothing in return until he was stuck and needed a phone to continue he replied with "Sound's like a lie , & he didn't even do anything to lead in direction & he's bullshiting imo ."

I ask that everyone go over to page 39 on the xda thread ([REQUEST] Motorola Triumph Forum - Page 39 - xda-developers) find Revolution's first post and read down from there if you feel compelled please defend Ikaros in a respectful manner as others have done so, if you feel like you will curse and say angry things refrain from posting until you are able to post peacefully.

If Revolution wants to call Ikaros, someone who has gained our trust through actions, a liar then let him do so we can prove him wrong by stating facts without turning it into a yelling match.

I'm not sure if I understand the situation. Either way, I've reached my target goal. I will go ahead an purchase a Triumph and start playing with it. Thanks for all the support guys!

Isaac, how's CM7 coming? If you need a beta tester, let me know. I really appreciate all of your efforts!

so did you get it?

Sorry, I should of mentioned I got the phone. :)

As to the status of CM7, I've been working on a CWM port. It's complete and so I've moved on to CM7. If you interested in what I'm doing, you can view my commit feed here: https://github.com/ikarosdev

I've already been able to build CM7 (instructions for those interested in the "all things root" section). Now, the fun part is getting it to boot. This is what I'm currently focusing on. Trust me, if and when I get CM7 booting, AF is the first place I'm going to start celebrating.

As always, any help is appreciated. I'm trying to work around some limitations until the source is released.

I haven't been around the Android world very long, but I was just curious how long it normally takes until they release the sources. Hopefully it isn't too long so I can enjoy some delicious CM7 :P

Gave you a fin - hardly enough recompense for your hard work, but I will continue to donate subway money when I can. Thanks for your efforts, time, and dedication.
