Help Reset and Backup

Hi all. Please can someone help urgently.
My phone, SGS2 is going in. I am getting a brand new phone from my service provider, and its happening tomorrow, so I need urgent help.
What can I use to back up my apps so that I can reload them on my new device? Can I use kies or must I use another app? I have paid for apps that I would like to backup, and use on the new device.

When I had a rooted phone, I used Titanium backup, and it synced my apps to DropBox.

Now, I have SGS2, and all the apps I have magically come back after a wipe, due to the sync with google (find it under privacy in the settings menu). Don't know if it can be trusted, but works for me...

All apps downloaded from google would be remembered. Just go to google android market / play shop and search your account and install the apps again.
