Help Reset back to stock

A friend of mine bought a Hero off ebay. It has cyanogenmod on it. He called sprint to activate it and they said thy couldn't activate it because it doesn't have the original rom on it. I tired restoring it but it wouldn't reset to the original. How do I get it to reset to out of the box?

You will have to install the original software, called RUU. You can get this at the HTC website, under "support" and then "downloads". You will have to install HTC Sync (also on the HTC page) on the computer, which is an additional software that will allow the phone to connect to the computer via usb cable. Then download the update phone software to the computer, plug in the cable to the phone, and double click on the downloaded software. In a few minutes you will have an "out of the box" fresh Hero!
