Help Reset phone, now Wifi doesn't work

I've had my Optimus v for about a week with no problem until today. My first problem started when I opened Google Sky today. I installed it a few days ago and it worked with no problem. I started it today and noticed that it would only track when I moved the phone up and down, and not left and right. So I thought that maybe the orientation sensor (or whatever) was broken. I didnt have anything major installed on the phone so I just factory reset it. Phone starts up and now the Wifi wont connect to anything. I enter the password for my home Wifi, it says "Connecting", then "Authenticating With XXXX", then...nothing. I have not rooted, installed any kind of task killer, juice defender, changed any settings on the phone. The phone since reset is 100% factory. What should I do?

In short: Left-Right Orientation sensor stopped working, reset phone, now wifi wont connect to any network.

first thing i would do is check the wifi settings on your phone, make sure its all turned on where its supposed to be, then i would go to a hot spot like a public library or coffee shop just to make sure it was my phone and not some obscure setting in my router. just curious, does google sky work correctly after the reset? it may be more physical damage than software settings gone awry.

I'm curious to see if Google Sky now works since I've reset, but because I don't have Wifi I havn't been able to download it and test. It's entirely possible that both the Wifi and the Left-Right Orientation sensor don't work. No idea right now.
On another forum, someone suggested I should try rooting my phone. I'm up for trying, but I am worried that Best Buy will not exchange my phone for a new one if rooting does not solve my problem.

Ok, so I got frustrated and returned my phone to best buy and swapped out my phone for a new Optimus V. I guess something must be wrong with my home wifi because my new phone still can't connect. It successfully connected to the Wifi at the library, but home wifi no. Not sure why because my old Optimus used to connect with no problem and nothing has changed about my router. Going to play around with the setting and see what happens.
