Resetting headset remote to work with default music app

I installed a couple of oher music apps (cubed and mixzing) but didn't like them so I uninstalled them. Now the remote won't control the default music app.

If I install cubed or mixzing again the headset works, so that's not the problem. I have tried re-installing and removing cubed and mixzing but doesn't do anything. If I have cubed or mixzing installed and disable the headset, then nothing happens when I press it.

Is there a way to reset this? I can't find any settings options in the HTC music app.

looks like the only way to resolve this issue is to master reset the device
I just ran into the same problem and my carrier wouldnt help me so that looks like the only option
