Help [Resolved] Missing Phone App after update

After I updated my phone last night, I noticed my Phone icon was gone from my lock screen. I tried adding it back in but soon found out the app is missing from my phone. tried rebooting and battery pull and it is still gone. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the latest update that came out last night. The problem happen after I updated my phone my phone application is completely missing from my phone.

I hope this isn't a stupid question but did you go back into your lock screen settings to try and actually find it? I ask because I have seen a few people get confused and were looking in the app draw(where its not located) instead of the lock screen settings(where it is located).
 
There haven't been any recent updates, neither in firmware nor HTC updates.

This was a known issue that was fixed with a second update that was released on launch day. Check for another update, a firmware update, and then check your lock screen settings to add the phone icon back to the lock screen.
 
After you take the OTA, you have to go to System Updates and tap "HTC software update". It's odd that it wasn't included with the OTA, but there should be 4 updates available. The phone icon is one of them.
 
I had a similar issue yesterday, but with my Verizon fios DVR app. The app icon on one of my home screens just changed to the generic android icon - when I looked in the app drawer, the app was gone. Android market didn't show it as installed either!
I reinstalled it and it is working now - not sure what happened...
 
OP, there has been a lot of discussion here. I wanted to make sure you are able to follow the directions here and see if you are on the same page as the others here.

if you have all of the htc updates. you should have everything back. if not, let us know.

Ok, this is weird. I did look in both the app list and the lock screen settings, i swear it wasn't there in either place. It has come back and problem solved. The day after I had my phone, I got a message saying there was a software update, so I downloaded it.

Software 1.13.651.7. The weird thing is when I first got my phone on Saturday, I checked for updates from phone and it said there was none, so the next day when I got the message that an update was available, i downloaded it. Thanks for all your help. Coming from the Palm pre, I am not looking back, this phone ROCKS!
 
I'm having the same problem. My phone icon is missing from the lockscreen and I can't find it on my app list. There is no update available for HTC and I have done a battery pull. How do I get it back?

are you rooted?

are you a UK user or in the states?

what was the latest update you did?

when did you "lose" the phone icon?

a factory reset will absolutely get it back but that is a last resort. so lets see if we can figure it out..

I am in the States, the last update I had was the day I bought the phone, October 1, 2011. I lost the phone icon today. I'm unsure what rooted means.
 
I tried the battery pull. It didn't work. How do I do a factory reset. If I do a factory reset, won't I lose all the applications I have downloaded?
