i am very interested in the asus transformer
but i am afraid of the screen responsiveness
is it hardware of software issue
and if it is a software problem could it be fixed in the future
it is the only thing preventing from buying it
please share your advice

Where is responsiveness issue being reported?

From my own experience with using a xoom, my droid x, iphone 3g, and ipad, issues with responsiveness exist on all. Most of it I determined to be caused by me being impatient and expecting everything to pop up immediately. That results in me clicking on things multiple times, which in turn, makes it hang more. I can tell you on my frustration level of 1 being no trouble and 10 being PITA, this kind of problem ranks about 3. Sure it may irritate, but FC issues irritate me more in my opinion.

Well yesterday I went to my local shop and they had Xoom, Iconia and TF on display so I was having a look.

When it comes to slide pages the Xoom was perfect (as responsive as an ipad), the iconia was terrible (almost no sliding) and the TF was kind of in between. When moving from one page to another it was not as smooth as I was expecting. I was also playing with maps zooming, turning etc and the xoom feels more responsive here as well.

I was a bit surprise because I thought they have roughly the same hardware so I guess it comes to software.

So as the OP ask do you know if there are going to be any update because this is really something I dislike to have things not very responsive ?

I have played with the Xoom in the store and have a Transformer and notice no responsiveness issues. If anything, I also notice that the screen transition is a lot better on the Transformer than it was on the Xoom.

I know where the OP is coming from. Mines a little unresponsive at times a little like the Nexus 1 soft-keys where like.

Hoping a fix will come but although in saying that, I have been an android user from the beginning and it feels like i am always waiting for patches. Maybe something will come out at Google IO

I have a Xoom sitting right here next to my TF, and I'll testify that the Xoom is not nearly as responsive as the TF. In fact, one of the things that's pleased me the most about the TF (in addition to the screen) is how much better it performs overall than the Xoom.

Ditto. Android's mutli-tasking is both a blessing and a curse. Heck, even the lower overhead iOS lags on my iPod 4 sometimes as well.
