Root restarting rooted optimus v..

I'm loving my phone, thanks to those who have helped in the past.

Simple question, should I be practicing restarting my phone on a regular basis? I'm wondering if that will help speed up my phone a bit and possibly have it run smoother. Thanks ahead

You don't really need to. Linux based systems (like our phones) don't have problems with uptime. It isn't unusual for a Linux box to run for many months without rebooting and never have an issue. With windows based systems, rebooting every now and then helps them run smoothly, but the same doesn't apply to your phone.

And I'm used to windows so this is all new to me

This may be true but I've noticed if I restart every couple of days my phone seems to run a lot faster with little to no freezes and force closes

I don't have any problem with freezing or force closes, just slight lagging. I'm curious if it's my launcher after having this conversation. I'll reboot anyways, it's been a while. what do you guys now about go launcher being the home launcher with CM7?

I used to use Go Launcher, but ADW is faster. The only thing missing is multiple pages of dock icons.

Do you mean like a scrollable dock? I don't really use it. Go launcher has a great message widget that use. That's my only reserve for making the switch, but you are right, the speed is wearing on me.

Original question was solved by the way read on at your own risk.

Swype tries to spell some of the funniest things. I Swyped dock, but you can imagine what it spelled. Thank Tebow that I spell checked it.

Your cache builds up causing this and when you reboot it clears it but if you get a good cache cleaner it does the same thing.

What's a good cache cleaner? I've got cache mate, but I'm not sold on it. I uninstalled go Locker and my phone send to be running faster. Also, I'm thinking of getting rid of a few apps I don't use, but keeping a back up.
