Can I restore a nand backup made on one TB onto a different one?
I have a backup and I'm about to unroot to get a replacement. Once I root the new TB, can I restore from the backup? There's nothing in /system that identifies the specific phone such as MEID or serial number or whatever that gets injected on the assembly line?
If I guessed, I would say that since one RUU can update every TB in existence, and we all use the same one to do the easy unroot, that means a nand backup won't contain anything device specific.
Am I right to consider the content of a nand backup and an RUU to be equal, there's nothing specific to the device that nand backs up?
I'm happy with the condition of my TB, I haven't messed with anything too experimental since I wiped and rooted. I'm hoping I can restore this backup and all the umptybillion settings changes I tweak and honestly forget about over the course of a few days will all be there. This is sort of why I don't flash dev ROMs, I don't have the patience to redo all the tweaks.
