Restore in ClockWork Mod failing

hi all

rooted my galaxy s2 following the dummies guide. No probs. backuped the phone with ClockWorkMod, and the backup is on the sd card. now trying to restore that backup onto another identical GS2, and it is failing. The error message says MD5 mismatch!

Can anything be done to get my phone back to previous state?

Welcome to Android Forums, rkolomiychenko. :)

I'm not sure I've ever seen a successful migration of an OS from one device to another. I'm wondering what is holding you back from just rooting the second device and going through the same regimen you went through on the first device.

Sorry, just to clarify, you backed up up your old GS2 using CWM and now you're trying to restore using a new GS2? It should work...but I think you need to unlock the bootloader: Check this post. Someone did it with a Galaxy Nexus. I can't see why there'd be much difference. But maybe the oldhands will have more experience with transferring CWM backups on GS2.

Thanks Kie, will check that post you gave me. I don't see why it shouldn't work. I did smth similar on my old desire, and it worked a treat. I will keep trying!
