Is there any way I can create a system restore point or backup? I want to root, but would like to revert back to a safe place should something happen...
Yes.... And no. You can follow the instructions to setup a nandroid backup in the link below. However, you need root access to do this. Which means any restore point you create will be after you rooted. Rooting is fairly safe if you read through the instructions first then do it.
Thanks for the quick response and help! But I am looking for something I can do before rooting... I know the process of rooting isn't too dangerous but the process of customizing/tweaking your phone afterwards can be... So there is no backup/restore exec out there with capabilities similar to iTunes backup/restore?
