Restore Samsung

My friend's new phone, yes, a Samsung, is missing something. At first I didn't know what he meant because he doesn't use most features, just calling and receiving and youtube, really. He doesn't usually text and almost never bothers with the camera. Finally I found out what he meant: no porn. He took it to the place he bought it but I guess all they can do is wipe it completely, for a price. He's offering me a little less to "fix" it. If I were him I'd be more interested in replacing missing contacts. By the way, I could do that IF the previous phone were available.

Since I put No Root Firewall on his phone for him, I wondered if it could be a little too restrictive. I shut it down and lo and behold, porn. I would rather err the other way and keep the thing from being invaded by a bunch of crap apps, mostly overweight games that are probably just spyware, but it's not mine...

well if you want to factory reset the device. go into settings>general management>reset>factory data reset. i do not use no root firewall, but there should be a way to configure settings to allow such site. how to do that i do not know, but a simple google search should yield good results.

I tried No Root firewall at one point for my other cell, seriously a kind of stupid point of having some 3rd party app ruin his device..
This is why I rarely grab my tablet and head anywhere but to vacation on it.

it sounds like he blocked it himself by mistake.

you can block certain IPs from connections, and it is global, meaning it blocks for the whole device not just one app.

i used to use it for sites that persistantly sent redirect after redirect.

it worked usually after a while, but the app grows larger with each one.

i now use the firewall included inside Invizible from F-droid.
