Root restoring contacts with csv file

I can't for the life of me remember how to take a csv file and restore my contacts, does anyone remember this procedure?
doh, never mind, it helps if your handset is activated....

Contacts/Menu button/More/Import/Export/Export to SD card. Import for importing.

Or you can do it from your computer in Gmail.

Yup, thanks all.... I figured it out about two minutes after I remembered to activate the handset.
