Restoring Contacts

Hi Everyone, I've run into a big problem. (Not the phones fault) I cleared the data under the "Contacts" and "Contacts Storage" app and now only 50 of my 100 or so contacts are there now. I've cleared the data for these two apps before in the past and was able to recover them from the SIM card with no problem. (That was my thought this time too.) One thing I forgot, when I bought the Atrix, they changed my SIM card. So, all my other contacts must have been saved to the phones memory, I guess. Also, when I try and add a contact, I get this message "can not create a new contact without a valid acct." I tried to restore all my contacts from Motoblur, but you have to save them there first. (Go figure) I thought the backup was suppose to be automatic.

Anyway to recover all of my contacts and add new contact? Thanks

Unless you have the contacts on some other thing (like the guy above me said g-mail) there is no way to get them back. Just ask people again and learn from your mistakes. As for the adding contacts, a lot of people have had the same problem but I have seen no one with an answer to it... I would recommend a battery pull and then try again.

Ok, so here's an update. I was able to recover all of my contacts, but in a rather unique kinda of way. Since I am using Lookout and Google G-mail, I had both to snyc. all the contacts that each one had in storage. I had this crazy idea to try and see if my backflip had any of my contacts stored in it. Well, to my surprise, my Backflip had all my contacts, even the most current ones too. So, I took out of the Atrix, both SIM and SD card, and placed in the Backflip. I backed up all contacts to both cards and placed back into the Atrix. I was able to recover all contacts with no problem. Now, the only problem I'm having is that I don't have either Motorola or Google as an acct. under contacts> menu> more> settings. Under the New Contacts line there should be both a Motoblur and Google acct. to select which one to snyc new contacts too. I'm hoping to be able to fix this without having to do a factory reset. Any ideas.
