Restoring from Titianium

I did a factory reset and am trying to restore from Titianium Backup. I did one restore and it doesn't look like anything on the system has changed. When I go back into Titiamium and look at the restore senarios it tells me I have 172 "missing app + all system data", but when I run that it just seems to sit there. How can I get my data restored?

I also run MyBackup Pro if that would be easier.

You don't ever want to restore system data that will screw things up. You should have the option to restore missing apps with data. Try that.

Ok. I'll do another reset and try that. Do I do a restart after it's done then? I thought that's what I did the first time but didn't notice any change.

Shoult Titanium backup be trying to restore Titanium backup? It seems to be hanging there for an awfull long time.

I'm about to give up and just reinstall everything manually, but if anyone can help me restore what I had it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried just restoring one app at a time, to see if that works?

In Titanium, go to menu, batch then restore apps (I forget the exact wording). That brings up a list of apps, you can choose deselect all, then check one app and click restore.

You have titanium backup as one of your listed apps?? or is it the titanium backup pro license? I've always reinstalled the license before trying to do a batch restore so it has never shown as a missing app to be reinstalled. perhaps try that or deselect if it is for some reason still listed.

another way to reinstall one by one is to simply click on each app, when the pop up shows you should have a list of backups click restore another pop up will appear asking if you want to restore the app, app + data, or data select whichever is appropriate.

btw, system settings can be restored. As a rule of thumb anything in green or white can be restored.

Another frequent cause of confusion can be any filter applied in the Backup/Restore tab. Make sure that "Uninst." is checked under "Filter by type" to restore apps not already installed.

I hard reset my phone a few days ago an encountered a similar problem TB would not restore ... .

I found that backing up my SD; formating it on a pc and then copying my data back fixed my market and TB issues.......... not sure what was screwed up on the the SD but something was

I do have the pro license. If I try to restore missing aps, it tells me I don't have any. If I try to restore all aps it hangs on Titanium. I re-downloaded all my stuff from the market, and realized too late I could have restored them individually. I have used the individual method to restore some of my ap's data, so at least that's something.
