How long does it take to restore a phone from the flash screen?

I want to do a system restore so it's like it was when I took it out of the box. It's rooted so are there any certain steps I have to follow or just click the Restore System button?

You will have to flash the 2.1 update with the sprint tool to get back to pure stock, this takes about 5 minutes from start to finish.
