I have, or should I say, had the Samsung Galaxy S2 for a year or two, and during those times, broke it about three times. (Skip the next two paragraphs to get straight to the broken phone details)
Well, to be honest, I didn't break it, but more like my dad threw it at the wall because he was mad, but either way, it ended up broken. The first time it didn't take as heavy as toll since I hadn't had many contacts, images, etc saved on it, but the second time, I'd lost everything. He told me constantly that it would be no problem to get those contacts back (most likely just to get me off his chest), but never did actually go to sprint with me to do it. Then another six months flew by, me still unsatisfied because I never did get those contacts and images back, and my dad broke it again.
The last time he broke it was February of this year, and he refused to get a new one for me so I've been stuck without a phone till now. But school's finally starting again, and he sees that I really do need it (since I've transferred to another school now and everything is new), so he got me a temporary phone for now. He said he'll get me one similar to my old model soon. The one I currently have right now is a model I'm not really sure of, though its definitely not the S2. Since I know I'm getting a new phone soon, and I know that my dad clearly isn't going to help in any way, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
My last two phones were broken because they were thrown against a wall, and when I turn them on they do make the song or whatever for the opening when the phone turns on, and when I touch it, it does make 'tak tak' sounds that the phone would typically make when punching in the pin. Its just that the display is completely black, so you literally cant see anything.
I tried downloading that app MyPhoneExplorer since I heard that it works wonders, but found it doesn't really work unless its downloaded on your android device as well. So I read this other forum, and a person said that you have to download the desktop version from the original website for your computer, and go to google play (on your laptop) and when you download it it downloads into the phone. So I tried that, but all it says is "Installed" in that green button and underneath it it says "Loading Device Compatibility..." Its been like that for hours now, so I dont think its working.
I've already downloaded the desktop version, and tried to do it without downloading it on the android, but it keeps saying that the connection to the phone could not be established. In fact, my phone isn't even connecting to the computer right now. Not even for the checking files or whatever.
I really, really need to get both the contacts and images from both my broken phones, as well as the calendar events. I went to the sprint places already, but they said I cant get it if I didn't back it up to google, which I didn't. The reason to that is again, because of my dad. (something along the lines of the govt being able to track everything down? Idk, he's always spouting bs).
Is there any way to do it?
