Help Retrieving Deleted Texts

Do we know if Google saves the deleted texts somewhere out there. I don't want them but I'm curious if it could be done.

Texts in the messaging app are gone once you delete them. If you use google voice, I believe that you can some how save the texts by forwarding to gmail. I am not 100% sure, but there are so many settings that if you mess with it for a while, you will figure it out
